Corps Security has owned and occupied its Farringdon HQ since 1991. This four floor, 19th century premises is a lively operational hub for Corps London portfolio and is home to HR, learning and development, payroll and finance colleagues as well as senior leadership including the CEO and COO. With colleagues from across the country coming and going and clients using the facilities as a central London meeting space, Market House is a hive of activity.

CHALLENGE

At Market House, Corps wanted to gain greater visibility and control over building occupancy, particularly during low‑occupancy periods such as Fridays and weekends. With hybrid working patterns becoming the norm, traditional assumptions around office usage were no longer reliable.

Key challenges included:

Limited insight into who was in the building and when, outside of core working hours
A lack of tangible, historic data to evidence heating, lighting, and air‑quality usage
Difficulty demonstrating measurable ESG improvements without supporting data
Operational inefficiencies, including cleaning schedules based on routine rather than actual room usage

Corps required a solution that would provide data‑driven oversight, enabling smarter decisions across security, facilities, cleaning, and sustainability functions.

SOLUTION

Beespace sensors were deployed throughout Market House, providing continuous, real‑time insight into:

Occupancy and movement patterns across the building
Heating and lighting usage, by time, zone, and occupancy status
Air quality metrics, supporting wellbeing and environmental standards

The sensors operate passively, requiring no user interaction and no behavioural change, making them ideal for a live office environment. Data captured is stored historically, allowing trends and patterns to be analysed over time rather than relying on assumptions.

This deployment enabled Corps to move from anecdotal oversight to measurable, evidence‑based building intelligence.
