The service combines professional guarding with technology‑enabled oversight, including solutions designed to manage risk and maintain continuity across both occupied and vacant sites. This approach helps our client reduce exposure, improve visibility and maintain safe, well‑managed environments aligned to its operational and compliance requirements.

CHALLENGE

Our client began decommissioning a number of franchise sites, several properties were left vacant for extended periods. While unoccupied, these buildings still presented cost, risk, and compliance challenges, including:

Unnecessary heating and lighting usage in empty rooms, increasing operational costs
Limited visibility into temperature fluctuations, which could cause damage or inefficiency
A need to proactively monitor air quality to provide early warning of mould or damp, which is critical in vacant buildings
The requirement to detect and respond to any unauthorised presence, reducing the risk of vandalism, squatting, or insurance claims

Our client required a solution that would provide continuous, passive oversight of vacant properties, without relying on frequent site visits or reactive alarm systems.

SOLUTION

Beespace sensors were deployed throughout each vacant property, providing real-time insight into:

Occupancy and presence detection
Temperature and lighting usage trends
Air quality conditions, enabling early identification of mould‑risk environments

The sensors operate passively, meaning no interaction or engagement is required, making them ideal for unoccupied buildings. Data is captured continuously, allowing security and facilities teams to identify inefficiencies, risks, and anomalies remotely.
