Our media clients bustling London campus includes a number of perimeter and low-access areas that are difficult to patrol safely and consistently using traditional methods. To explore a more effective approach, Corps delivered a live demonstration of quadruped robotic patrol technology, showcasing how robotics can enhance visibility, reduce risk to personnel and improve coverage across complex environments.

The demonstration provided a practical proof point for how robotic patrols can complement existing security teams, extending reach into challenging spaces while supporting a more efficient and forward-thinking deployment model.

CHALLENGE

Our client required improved surveillance of perimeter routes and low-access areas where traditional foot patrols were inefficient and, in some cases, introduced unnecessary risk to officers.

Restricted access points, poor lighting, uneven ground and physical obstructions created blind spots that were difficult to monitor consistently. At the same time, vacant or rarely accessed buildings still required periodic inspection, but not in a way that justified permanent guarding provision.

SOLUTION

Corps delivered an on-site robotics demonstration centred around the Go2-W quadruped, supported by additional robotic platforms including SecUnit and T-Rex.

The Go2-W’s hybrid wheel-legged design enabled it to move efficiently across flat surfaces while adapting to more complex terrain, including obstacles, narrow routes and uneven ground. This made it particularly effective in areas where traditional patrol methods are least practical.

The robot was deployed across challenging perimeter routes, successfully navigating obstacles such as pipework, metal structures and dense vegetation, while providing continuous visual feedback to the security team. Integrated cameras and two-way communication allowed teams to remotely assess conditions in real time and make informed decisions without exposing personnel to unnecessary risk.

The demonstration also explored the use of robotic patrols in vacant or low-occupancy buildings, where the technology offered a flexible alternative to static guarding by enabling repeatable, on-demand inspections.
