The Corps Security Approach

We look after the things that matter.

As a Social Enterprise, people are our business. We value each and every Corps colleague and set the welfare and wellbeing of our workforce as a top priority. We believe that if our employees feel cared for, invested in and appreciated, this directly impacts on the service received by our customers.

Being a Social Enterprise means we really do change lives. Coupled with our mission to pay all our staff a living wage means Corps are genuinely different to all other security companies in the UK.

THE CORPS COLLEAGUE CHARTER

Our service delivery philosophy is underpinned at every stage by our people first approach and a genuine drive for collaboration. We focus on the customer journey, viewing security solutions from the client’s perspective, with the aim of demonstrating the real value security can bring.

Over the years we’ve realised what we need to concentrate on to achieve this truly people first approach is – our people. That’s why we developed our Corps Colleague Charter. It means that everyone working as part of the Corps family knows they are part of a business that really does prioritise its people – through professional development, reward and recognition schemes and genuine investment in personal wellbeing.

If you’d like to work for a company that puts its people first,

  • Everyone deserves a living wage

Paying our people fairly and ensuring they earn a living wage is a fundamental principle of our philosophy. We choose to work with customers who share this value and do all we can to help those who really want to, to get there too.

  • Hands-on management support helps progression

Our management teams are given the space to actively engage with front line staff, coaching and mentoring our colleagues to get the very best from their employment with Corps.

  • Diversity is an expectation, not a requirement

Our equality, diversity and inclusion programme provides an inclusive working environment that benefits from real diversity. Everyone at Corps is free to be themselves, knowing that we will support them as well as helping to shape our strategy.

  • Contributing and being part of the wider team is key

We rely on knowledge, experience and ideas from across our workforce to help shape our business. Every year we use colleague feedback to set objectives, create plans and improve everything we do.

  • Having a voice is important but being heard is essential

We don’t just provide our colleagues with the tools to communicate with us, we listen when they do. Our annual colleague survey, email hotline and workplace forums, allow us to respond to colleague feedback and make changes where they matter most.

Clarence Hyman – Employee Case Study

Clarence joined Corps Security in 2014 and since then has become a well-established, respected and highly thought of member of the operational management team.

Clarence has taken every opportunity presented to him and has progressed through several roles with Corps, providing him with unrivalled knowledge of security operations at every level.

Clarence entered the world of work in the building trade as a multi-skilled worker specialising in bricklaying and plastering. The irregularity of decent jobs was causing an issue, so Clarence decided to take a different path. He joined an agency to help fill the gaps between building jobs and after a short while was offered an interview with Corps.
