Breaking News With Paul Lotter February 2023
Dear Colleagues,
It’s another bumper month for retentions this month, as we celebrate the extension of relationships with some of our amazing customers. A massive thank you to the teams that have worked hard to keep our customers happy by going above and beyond. It doesn’t go unnoticed.
So, who are we celebrating with this month…
JCB digs into Corps’ history to award its security contract.
I am delighted to announce that on the 1st January we started a new security contract with a leading British manufacturer, JCB. For those who haven’t heard of JCB, they make products for the construction and farming industries.
The new contract was celebrated at the Global Head Office of JCB on New Year’s Day, where the contract team were joined by our CEO Mike Bullock. Corps will manage 12 locations across the portfolio, with the following promise:
“To protect JCB personnel, contractors, visitors from assault or injury, or the risk of damage to JCB assets from unauthorised entry; thereby deterring / detecting / denying / delaying criminality both internally and externally through the appropriate mitigation and response.”
The contract has been awarded for an initial 3 years. As with every new customer, we asked why Corps was successful in the bid process and were pleased to say that our commitment to our people and our transparent and defined values – which aligned with JCBs – attracted the company to Corps. In addition, JCB referenced our company history. As you know, Corps’ Social Mission started over 160 years ago and remains in its contemporary form today – something to which we will always be committed. JCB has a similar commitment to its history, so the two companies are aligned with our commitment to Great Britain and sustainable, people and planet focussed philosophy.
BNP PARIBAS EXTENDS CONTRACT WITHOUT A COMPETITIVE BID
With many of the retention stories, I congratulate the team on a successful retender process. In this case, I am prouder to say that the extension of 3 years (+2) was awarded without a competitive bid process.
Following our team’s incredible support during covid, exceptional management and front of house efforts, and leading from the front in the management of this contract, the BNP Paribas team extended our contract based on this incredible success.
Corps provides security for three locations, two in Marylebone and one near Moorgate/Barbican in London which secures 42 colleagues roles for the remainder of the contract, all being paid well above the real Living Wage.
A massive congratulations to everyone of you that has worked with this customer. It is a credit to your commitment and professionalism that this client felt they couldn’t get equal levels of service from any other security supplier.
CORPS STRENGTHENS RELATIONSHIP WITH CAPITAL CITY COLLEGE GROUP
We are delighted to announce the extension of the partnership providing security to CCCG’s colleges across the capital.
CCCG operates 11 colleges, and trains over 25,000 students every year. Corps has been the security provider to two of the key colleges and have just been granted a 3 year extension which will also see the security provision grow.
Beginning on 1st February 2023, the new extended contract has seen Corps Security provide services for City and Islington College, The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London, and Westminster Kingsway College.
The contract secures the employment of the existing 30 strong team – well done to you all. And we have additional roles at Corps Security for an additional 11 people who transferred to the company as part of the deal.
Corps’ Social Enterprise status and focus on people resonated with the team. As such, as part of the deal, all officers will be paid the minimum of the real Living Wage, and all current and new officers will have access to the high level of training and personal development that Corps provides colleagues as standard.
I look forward to delivering more good news next month. Don’t forget, if you have any ideas of what you would like to see in the newsletter, do get in touch with the team.
Best wishes,
Paul
