Corps Security Secures Three-year Contract With Neovia Logistics

Specialist security service provider Corps Security has secured a three-year contract with contract logistics provider Neovia Logistics following a competitive tender process. Ten Corps officers will provide estate security, security guarding, site support and searching services at the company’s distribution centre near Milton Keynes.

Under the contract, Corps will provide comprehensive security services for Neovia Logistics, which operates in a highly regulated environment requiring stringent security protocols to meet accreditation requirements on behalf of its clients. The contract will expand the site’s security provision to cover multiple access points across the site with a dedicated site cover team.

Neovia Logistics selected Corps Security for its strong account management structure and rollout plan proposed at the tender stage, clear regional support strategy, and its strong accessibility compliance. Neovia Logistics was also impressed by Corps’ ESG and DEI commitments and comprehensive operational protocols that aligned with the site’s specific needs.

Mark Williams, Site Support Manager at Neovia Logistics, said: “Security is paramount in our highly regulated operations. We were impressed by Corps Security’s comprehensive understanding of our needs and cost-effective approach. We are confident that we have selected the right partner to deliver the services our site requires.”

Dale Johnson, Regional Manager at Corps Security, said: “We are delighted to partner with Neovia Logistics to enhance its site security. This contract demonstrates our ability to adapt and meet the complex needs of highly regulated logistics environments, and we look forward to supporting Neovia Logistics’ complex operations.”

Corps Security Achieves Silver EcoVadis Award

Corps Security has received a silver award from EcoVadis, the independent provider of business sustainability ratings for over 150,000 companies. The rating places it among the top 15% of companies assessed by the organisation in the past year.

EcoVadis provides dynamic scorecards for organisations so procurement teams can monitor the sustainability performance of their organisations and trading partners. It scores organisations against four themes: environment, labour and human rights, sustainable procurement, and ethics. These themes cover the whole life cycle of a business under 21 subgroups, from the impact of product use and end-of-life, employee health and safety, diversity and discrimination, to anti-corruption policies and supplier environmental practices.

Corps gained two points from the previous year’s assessment and scored highly across all areas, achieving advanced weightings in environment, labour, and ethics, and a good weighting for sustainable procurement. To celebrate the improvement, EcoVadis planted a tree on behalf of Corps, through its partner One Tree Planted.

Sharon McLaren, quality and compliance manager at Corps Security, said: “Our improved score is testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible business practice. As a social enterprise, our mission is to balance commercial success with positive social and environmental impact, and this recognition from EcoVadis demonstrates that we are on the right path.”

Corps recently demonstrated its wider sustainable impact in its 2025 Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) report. The report detailed its Gold certification from independent sustainability reporting accreditor Neutral Carbon Zone, how 99% of all colleagues earn at or above the Real Living Wage, its ESG Scrutiny Group’s work, and its growing spend with social enterprises. The full ESG report can be read here.

Corps Security Launches Drone Security Service In Partnership With Security Drone Group

Corps Security, the social enterprise security specialist, has launched drone security in partnership with the Security Drone Group, experts in advanced aerial surveillance and AI-powered security solutions.

The collaboration between Corps Security and the Security Drone Group brings state-of-the-art drone technology to enhance security provision across expansive and complex sites. This offers facilities and estate managers improved visibility, robust perimeter protection, rapid response capabilities, and operational efficiencies, all integrating seamlessly with an existing monitoring infrastructure, either on or off site.

The new drone security service features 28x digital zoom cameras for detailed area coverage and thermal imaging technology that detects heat signatures, making it ideal for day and night-time operations. The drones offer a comprehensive suite of benefits tailored to the demands of modern site protection:

  • A visible deterrent: Aerial presence actively discourages unauthorised activity before it starts.
  • Wider coverage, fewer blind spots: Drones seamlessly monitor expansive areas with minimal infrastructure.
  • Automated patrols: Schedule routine, consistent perimeter checks without manual oversight.
  • Live monitoring: Real-time video feeds streamed directly to nominated monitoring centres for instant visibility.
  • Rapid incident response: Immediate aerial deployment to breaches and perimeter incursions.
  • AI analytics: Provides insights for informed decision-making.
  • Proven ROI: Low operational costs and improved incident prevention deliver measurable savings.
  • A scalable solution: A platform that evolves with its environment, ensuring future-ready security.
  • Cross functionality: Support for facilities management practices such as assisting with roof or gutter inspections.

The new service follows three successful pilot drone trials conducted at a pharmacy retailer, a global retail sports brand, and a multinational steel-making company. During the pilot trials, advanced drone capabilities significantly reduced alarm response times, enabled full perimeter checks to be completed in minutes, and thermal imagery revealed previously undetected blind spots during night operations.

Andrea Strong, innovation lead & managing director at Corps Monitoring, said: “Security is evolving and drones are leading the change. Our solution with Security Drone Group offers a smart and safe solution that increases operational efficiencies. These drones proved comprehensive at their trial stage, and their capabilities include lightweight construction and environmentally responsible features such as low-noise propellers for minimal disruption, wildlife protection protocols, and solar-powered charging for sustainable operations.”

Jordan Morris, managing director at Security Drone Group, said: “Drone technology is a game-changer for security operations. Deploying drones autonomously, around the clock, with minimal human intervention, offers an unprecedented layer of situational awareness and rapid response. In collaboration with certified Civil Aviation Authority partners, we’ve ensured that this system not only meets but exceeds the safety and compliance standards required for critical infrastructure protection and perimeter surveillance.”

Corps Security Wins SFE Security Team Of The Year

Pictured from left to right: Adam Sharman, contract manager, Corps Security; Dale Johnson, regional account manager, Corps Security; Scott Gilman, security operations manager, JCB HQ.

Social enterprise security provider Corps Security has won Security Team of the Year at the Security & Fire Excellence (SFE) Awards. The organisation won for its robust collaboration with J.C. Bamford Excavators Limited (JCB), where it developed strong Standard Operating Procedures in response to increased protests.

Held at this year’s Anticipate, the annual FM, fire, health and safety and security expo event, the SFE Awards celebrates the best people, projects and processes in the security and fire sectors.

In the face of ongoing public hostility and increased organised protests, JCB was approached by organised groups, some operating via online platforms. Corps Security has previously worked with the JCB security department to intervene, but as these incidents increased, they developed a new, more robust strategy, including social media protest tracking.

Corps was recognised for delivering its Standard Operating Procedure which focused on the teams’ knowledge and understanding of response procedures, and its regular testing of officers. It also deployed vehicles for mobile patrols and body-worn cameras, visual deterrents that enhanced response time and recorded vital evidence.

Corps’ internal consultancy team, Corps Consult also helped understand, plan and prepare the security response at JCB locations, using its social listening tool to track how JCB is featured in global conversations, predict possible events and proactively respond. Corps Consult also analysed the impact local businesses may have on JCB sites depending on affiliation and proximity. This information is routinely disseminated to all relevant stakeholders, so Corps and JCB can work together to respond to any threats.

Corps Security was also awarded Silver for the Diversity and Inclusion Champion category, Bronze for Security Guarding Company of the Year (over £35m turnover), and 3rd for Industry Choice Security Guarding Company.

Paul Lotter, managing director at Corps Security, said: “We are honoured to win this award and work with JCB, an organisation we share many values with. We provide high-level security services and analytics on relevant threats, but it is especially meaningful to work with an organisation committed to the safety of its community. We look forward to growing our collaboration.”

Scott Gilman, security operations manager at JCB World HQ – UK, said: “Corps has embraced the challenges of this contract, working collaboratively with stakeholders across our estate and providing us with enormous reassurance in its delivery of critical services. Our values, behaviours and culture align, to regularly demonstrate how we prioritise the wellbeing of employees. I am delighted that Corps has won this award, and look forward to the partnership continuing to grow.”

Corps Security Wins The Langham Estate Security Contract

Social enterprise security provider Corps Security has won a contract with The Langham Estate, a multi-site residential and commercial property management company in Fitzrovia, London. The contract began on the 1st of November 2024 and will bring together the two organisations that share community-based values and a focus on people.

The contract brings together Corps Security and its remote services division Corps Monitoring to deliver a truly integrated solution, combining physical security guarding with remote monitoring and response. This will be supported throughout the contract by Corps specialist consultancy team, Corps Consult.

Corps Security will provide services for 56 sites across the estate, with 18 new colleagues transferring to the company. Corps Monitoring will provide technologically advanced security systems and remote services. Corps Consult will also provide ongoing consultancy and routine security reviews, surveys and audits depending on the estates’ requirements.

The Langham Estate appointed Corps Security following a competitive tender process, where the security specialist demonstrated both its security expertise and extensive capabilities as well as social value credentials. The Estates’ own commitment to paying a living wage and advocacy for officer wellbeing and work-life balance is shared by Corps, creating the basis for a successful partnership.

Like Corps, The Langham Estate is steeped in a rich history, which began back in 1925. Over the years the estate has evolved, creating a vibrant and exciting neighbourhood in the heart of central London, that offers a diverse range of residences, commercial office space and leisure and retail offerings.

Andrew Topp, sales and marketing director at Corps Security, said: “We are delighted for our new relationship with The Langham Estate, exploring the best-in-class integrated security solutions to keep people and assets safe and secure. Our company values align and we are looking forward to forging a strong relationship grounded in trust, collaboration and innovation – the best recipe to drive success and create a lasting impact.”

Graeme Noot, head of FM at The Langham Estate, said: “From early in the tender process, Corps stood out as the leading candidate. They align closely with our people values, commitment to service excellence as well as shared our commitment to sustainability. Their ability to support us through our drive to a more innovative security solution across the estate which we believe will further enhance our customer experience. We are looking forward to working closely with Corps to further develop our security services and grow our partnership”.

Corps Wins Bronze At The English Veterans Awards

Corps Security has won the Bronze Award for Employer of the Year at the English Veterans Awards. The security specialist won for its commitment to veterans in need and its drive to recruit ex-services personnel.

The English Veterans Awards were established to celebrate veterans in business, fitness, sport and the wider community who have had great successes transitioning from military to civilian life.

They also reward reservists taking positive action and organisations offering support to the military community. Run in association with The Army Benevolent Fund and supporting the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, the awards were held on Wednesday the 23rd of October at the De Vere Wokefield Estate in Berkshire.

Corps was commended for its focus on recruiting and retaining ex-services personnel, which is embedded into its history and social mission. Its board of trustees consists of high-ranking ex-services personnel that ensure that its military focus is prioritised, including President Lieutenant General Sir Robert Fulton, and its Chief Life Governor, HRH King Charles.

Corps was praised for its Corps Veterans Association, which creates a space for ex-forces men and women to come together, share their experiences, navigate life after service, and engage in fundraising opportunities. All of Corps Security’s profits are reinvested into the business or donated to a charity partner, which includes SSAFA and its major beneficiary, Combat Stress – the leading veterans mental health charity in the UK.

Additionally, its opportunities for reservist employees were highlighted, which include additional paid leave of two weeks per year to allow reservists to attend annual camp. Corps also offers face-to-face counselling sessions for any veterans who feel that they need it or have returned from deployment and may be suffering from trauma or PTSD.

Nigel Horne, Regional Operations Director at Corps Security, and a veteran himself, said: “It’s a huge honour to receive this award. Since our foundation in 1859, Corps has been committed to providing gainful employment to veterans. We offer a range of wellbeing initiatives and support internally and are especially attuned to the needs of ex-personnel. We are working hard to develop and grow the Corps Veterans Association to continuously improve our offering.”

Corps Security has won The Security Institute’s prestigious award for the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Initiative of the Year, for the second time in a row. The award was presented at the Institute’s annual general meeting and conference, titled ‘The Changing Face of Security’ which was held in London last week.

The Institute’s annual meeting discussed the ever-changing dynamic in the security landscape, which included how the profession is now more diverse and inclusive than ever before. It featured eight awards focusing on outstanding work and contributions within the industry.

Corps was awarded for its Corps Together ED&I initiative, which aims to break down barriers in the workplace through community support structures, including the Corps Veterans Association, and its guardian support network. The Corps guardian support network encompasses race, disability, religion, age, gender, sexuality, marriage and civil partnership and pregnancy and maternity.

Corps was also commended for changing the mental health dialogue for officers with its mental health events, which led to the launch of the Wellness Baton, an event series collaborating with other security and FM providers to come together, learn, and share best practice for mental health and wellbeing support.

Seetan Varsani, divisional director for London and head of Corps Together at Corps Security, said: “We are delighted to win this award, especially for the second year in a row. Corps’ dedication to ED&I and our guardian structure means that we are constantly challenging each other to be better, both professionally and personally. We are privileged to have such a diverse workforce, and we are committed to opening our minds and ensuring support, respect and appreciation for every single colleague.”

Today marks International Security Officers’ Day, where the world comes together to celebrate and pay our thanks to the incredible work security officers do. At Corps, all our officers are dedicated to the safety of our clients and the public every single day.

What makes an excellent security officer? That was the question we asked at our sites across the country, and we received some great responses. Watch the video below to see what qualities our officers bring to the table.

Today, the City Security Council will celebrate International Security Officer Day in Manchester and London. All SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) companies were invited to join the council, and we are delighted to be in attendance with some of our security personnel. All officers will receive a certificate for their efforts, a small token to thank them for the important work they do every day.

We wanted to take this opportunity to highlight the work of a few of our exceptional officers who have gone above and beyond, to not just protect people, but to de-escalate difficult situations and save lives. These officers show the best of the best when it comes to officer support and safety, and we are honoured that they are part of our Corps team.

Angela Traykovska

On the 7th of February 2023, security patrol officer Angela Traykovska was on duty at the Royal Opera House. She greeted visitors, carrying out necessary bag checks and carefully monitoring the area for any threats.

In the evening, she observed a man who appeared distressed, agitated, and possibly intoxicated, coming closer to the Royal Opera House entrance. Angela approached him and noticed that he was holding a broken bottle and expressing suicidal intents in Bulgarian.

Angela is fluent in Bulgarian, and not only immediately called for help, but carefully attempted to disarm the man. She engaged him in calming conversation, with a thoughtful empathetic approach that calmed the man and allowed her to take the weapon, removing the immediate threat he posed to himself and others.

Once help arrived, Angela was able to take further control with the help of fellow officers. She proved her professionalism and altruism in a dangerous situation, using her conflict resolution and communication skills in a crucial moment. These incidents are not new territory for Angela, who has been able to spot sensitive situations even in busy environments, demonstrating heightened observation, good judgement, compassion, and courageousness all at the same time.

Angela’s incredible work also breaks social stereotypes surrounding female security officers – qualities like sensitivity, empathy and people-focused skills are just as important as the physical attributes typically associated with male guards in navigating difficult situations.

Angela’s bravery was celebrated by the wider industry too. In May, Angela was honoured with the 2024 SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction Award. Her decisive action, calmness and empathetic approach saved lives, and we are proud to have Angela work for us.

Tata Steel team

In February, four officers on the Tata Steel team at the Port Talbot steelwork location came across a life-threatening scenario and sprang into action. Donna Cable, Anthony Jones, Lisa Prosser and Tracey Pearce were on their way to work when they came across five people surrounding a motorcyclist on the ground, a few feet away from his bike, bag and helmet.

The individual had been thrown off his motorbike at a roundabout near the site and appeared to be seriously injured. All officers were First Person on Scene trained and were able to start treating him before medics reached the site.

Police attended the site and helped to shut down the road while everyone on the ground worked on the casualty. The team also managed the traffic on the dual carriageway and treated the patient, who, as it turned out, had sustained multiple fractures and other injuries.

The team were informed that the ambulance arrival time was three to five hours, with the heavy downfall and cold temperatures impacting the severity of the situation. So our officers decided to act. They arranged for a Tata Steel site ambulance to transport the patient to a hospital nearby.

Later that day, the team were informed by the mother of the person that he was in surgery, where he received treatment for his fractures and internal injuries. Since the accident, the individual has received multiple surgeries.

The team have been thanked by the manager, the mother, and the wife of the individual, and they have been given vouchers as a thank you.

Another two officers also did an incredible job – Scott Matthews and Marc Jenkins  stayed on site until a handover could be carried out with Donna and Lisa once they stood down from the scene. All six officers represent the best of those on the frontline, coming together to support an injured civilian and provide support to the police.

Celebrating today

The officers mentioned in this blog have done exceptionally well in emergency situations to ensure that civilians are safe, but every single day, our officers are vigilant, aware, and ready to take action. That alone is worthy of being honoured. Day and night, officers throughout the UK tirelessly work to keep people safe.

To all our officers, thank you.

Security excellence

We also wanted to showcase our excellent officers up and down the country, so we spoke with many Corps team members to answer the question, what makes an excellent security officer?

Watch the video below to see what everyone had to say:
