More About Corps – Mark Rogers – February 2023
Welcome to my February update on what is happening at Corps. It is going to be a busy month for us as we prepare for the soft launch of the new Corps Connect, we are shortlisted for no less than 5 OSPAs, and we continue to work with our partners to deliver the positive social impact for which we have become known.
I hope you have a fantastic month, and in the meantime, here is some news of what is happening at Corps…
Our Partnership with CBRE continues to grow
CBRE is one of Corps Security’s largest customers, but the relationship has moved beyond that of supplier/customer to a collaborative partnership. This relationship continues to ensure job security for a good many of you, but it is more than that. CBRE have been celebrated for their work with Social Enterprises and companies like Corps Security. In fact, their biggest spend with any Social Enterprise is paid to Corps.
CBRE’s new procurement programme – ensuring they purchase ethically from companies with a purpose – has been the reason for our ongoing growth as a company in recent years. But more than that, our friendship has educated us on how we buy from suppliers for our offices and operations. It has helped Corps to win many awards, build relationships with other partners, and has significantly increased our donations to our chosen charities.
I was therefore delighted to speak alongside Gemma Lindley from CBRE, and Andy from Social Enterprise UK at a CIPS procurement event in London. On stage, in front of some of the countries leading company purchasers, we spoke about how working together has helped to improve the lives of underrepresented groups in our society, in the case of Corps Security, our veteran community.
I look forward to seeing this relationship grow in 2023 and will of course keep you updated with some of the great work we have planned to develop this relationship too.
The OSPAs – the Oscars of the Security Industry
This month we will find out if we have been successful at the industry awards, the OSPAs. The OSPAs celebrate excellence in our industry and celebrate businesses that go above and beyond for our customers and their visitors.
We were therefore delighted to be shortlisted for the following awards…
- Corps Security – Outstanding Contract Security Company (Guarding) – sponsored by Team Software by WorkWave
- Corps & CBRE – Outstanding Security Partnership – sponsored by Police Crime Prevention Initiatives
If that wasn’t reason enough to celebrate, we are delighted to say that two of our incredible colleagues are also shortlisted for their work. A big congratulations to…
- Daniel Baquero – Outstanding Young Security Professional – sponsored by Zinc Systems
- Harry Secker – Royal Opera House – Outstanding Contract Security Manager/Director
Being shortlisted for awards like this is great for our company’s relationship across the industry and is a major factor in our recent and ongoing success bringing in some of the biggest brands in the country into the Corps family.
The ceremony is later this month, we will of course share the results after the event.
Have a great month and I look forward to updating you again in March,
Best wishes,
Mark
