Innovation In Action: Highlights From The 2025 Corps Innovation Day

The 2025 Corps Innovation Day took place in March and was a remarkable celebration of collaboration, creativity, and forward-thinking security solutions. Bringing together our talented in-house team, valued clients, and forward-thinking industry partners, the event showcased the latest advancements enhancing threat management and security.

Technological innovations

Throughout the day, attendees were immersed in cutting-edge demonstrations, offering a glimpse into the future of security technology.

The interactive showcase of our in-house dashboard gave live demonstrations of the sophisticated intelligence analytics we can offer, including the latest technologies available, how our alarm response time performs against stringent National Security Inspectorate regulations, and digestible displays of information that have ease of understanding in mind.

The event highlighted how data-driven insights are transforming security monitoring. State-of-the-art CCTV live surveillance systems, next-generation access control, and robotics provided a compelling vision of how innovation is shaping the industry.

Innovating our approach

However, the day wasn’t solely about technology. It was also an opportunity to reflect on the broader impact of innovation. Our charity partnership with Combat Stress was a key feature, reinforcing our commitment to supporting military communities. Combat Stress representatives spoke about our most recent partnership fundraiser, our March in March challenge, where the National Accounts Team and 21 customers walked 24 miles together for a day and raised nearly £14,000. Combat Stress’ presence served as a powerful reminder that innovation extends beyond devices and data—it also means fostering meaningful social impact.

The event also provided a platform to discuss the future of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives. It was inspiring to see the dedication not only towards creating a more inclusive workplace for our employees but for our clients too, so we can all benefit from environments that champion diversity. Thought-provoking discussions around the use of security terminology and language were a key highlight of the day.

By refining the way we communicate, we aim to make the profession more inclusive and accessible, helping to attract a broader range of talent. This important work will serve as the foundation for a future Corps event, where we will continue to explore how language can shape a more diverse and welcoming industry.

Coming together

One of the most rewarding aspects of the day was witnessing the dynamic exchange of ideas. With so many experts and innovators in one room, the event became a melting pot of creativity. Conversations sparked new concepts and collaborative opportunities, driving us to rethink how we can apply emerging technologies and strategies to solve real-world security challenges.

As we look ahead, innovation will continue to be the driving force behind our commitment to delivering exceptional security solutions. The insights and connections gained from the Corps Innovation Day will shape our approach as we strive to redefine industry standards and remain at the forefront of security excellence.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the event such a success. Your passion, curiosity, and forward-thinking ideas are what fuel our continued progress. We are already looking forward to the next Innovation Day, where we will continue to explore new frontiers and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Corps Security has secured a two-year contract with Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity.

The contract, which commences on 30 November 2023, will see the security expert provide night concierge security and security guarding services to seven locations in London. While there is a strong emphasis on front of house security and safeguarding, the Corps Security team will do more than keep people and properties safe and secure – the 14 officers that are due to TUPE over from the incumbent will be the friendly face of the charity, offering a warm welcome to those who arrive at the supported accommodation. Following enhanced DBS checks, each officer will receive the latest safeguarding training to comply with updated regulations.

Centrepoint’s mission is to help the young people through support with mental and physical health, life skills and accessing education and employment, Centrepoint’s work is about empowering vulnerable young people. The charity’s ethos feeds into the security guard provider’s mission to protect the communities it serves.

Both parties are passionate advocates for the Living Wage Foundation, and the London Living Wage will be implemented into the contract at the new rate announced in October 2023.

These shared values underpinned Centrepoint’s decision to award the security contract to the social enterprise with a 160-year history of delivering social value. Another reason is Corps’ commitment to driving stigma change when it comes to mental health in security.

“We feel privileged to be working with Centrepoint,” said Mike Bullock, CEO at Corps Security. “This is an exciting win for us because we love working with charities, and this particular contract covers a large area of the city and will allow us to demonstrate our resilience. As a security partner that is focussed on delivering not just expertise but social value, we will do whatever we can to give back to this vulnerable community. We are already discussing ways we can collaborate outside of the contract, such as supporting the charity with job fairs and mentoring. For us, it goes beyond safeguarding and security excellence. It’s about protecting and improving lives.”

Ed Tytherleigh, Centrepoint’s Director of Services, added: “We awarded the contract to Corps Security because they share our values and want to improve the lives of vulnerable people. Corps’ personal touch during the tender process was fantastic – they were responsive, attentive, and proactive throughout. We’re looking forward to this next chapter and to working with a ‘people first’ security expert.”
